Game Recaps- BRANSON!!

Bright Lights, Big Innings: HBB 12U's Trip to Branson 🐾⚾

There's something different about a tournament on the road. The bus ride, the shared hotel rooms, the pregame meals together as a team, the unfamiliar dugouts — it all has a way of turning a group of players into a team. For HBB 12U, that transformation happened in Branson, Missouri, at Ballparks of America, where our boys took on some of the toughest competition they'd faced all summer — and left with a week's worth of memories that will stick with them for years. 🚌

Over the course of the tournament, HBB 12U went 4-3, battling FAE Redbirds, FAE Mustangs (twice), Jr Badgers, and Rosemount Irish (twice) across seven games full of momentum swings, big innings, and standout individual performances.

🎬 Game 1: A Statement Win Over FAE Redbirds

The trip opened with exactly the kind of game you hope to start a tournament with. HBB 12U jumped on the board early, with Ryan C launching a two-run home run in the top of the first, and Nixon S adding another RBI to make it 3-0 before the Redbirds even had their first at-bat.

The lead grew in the second inning when Gavin A ripped a double down the left field line and the team capitalized on a wild pitch to push the score further ahead. But it was the third inning that really put the game away — a six-run outburst fueled by a Ryan C single, a costly Redbirds error that let three runs cross the plate, an RBI double from Everett B, and a productive ground out from Charles S.

On the mound, Brandon P battled through three innings before handing the ball to Will C, who came in and shut the door — two scoreless innings, striking out two, and not allowing a single hit. 🔒 At the plate, Ryan C, Connor M, and Everett B each racked up two hits, with Ryan going 2-for-3 and leading the team with three RBIs. Everett added a pair of stolen bases for good measure.

🏁 Final: HBB 12U 11, FAE Redbirds 12U 5 ✅

💥 Game 2: Ryan C Puts on a Show

If Game 1 was a strong start, Game 2 was a full breakout. Ryan C was nearly unstoppable, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, and a single — a home run to center in the second inning that alone drove in three runs.

The offense never let up. In the second inning alone, HBB 12U strung together contributions from Connor M, Leo J, Benjamin M, Ryan, and Dylan A to build a commanding lead. Then, in the third, the bats stayed hot — an eight-run inning built on seven hits, with RBIs coming from Everett B, Charles S, Will C, Benjamin, Brandon P, and Gavin A. By the time the dust settled, HBB 12U had tallied 15 hits and seven walks as a team, with Ryan, Benjamin, and Brandon each collecting three hits on the day.

Charles S started strong on the mound before Greyson D came on in relief to help close it out.

🏁 Final: HBB 12U 16, 12U Jr Badgers 2026 5 ✅✅

🚀 Game 3: Nixon S Delivers the Biggest Swing of the Week

Every tournament has a signature moment, and for HBB 12U in Branson, this was it. Facing Rosemount Irish, Nixon Sturned in one of the most memorable individual performances of the summer — three hits, six RBIs, and a grand slam to right field 💣 in the fourth inning that punctuated a massive 14-run frame for the team.

That fourth inning was a clinic in team offense: Nixon doubled home two runs, Gavin A singled in two more, Charles Sand Leo J each drove in runs, Brandon P added a two-run double, and then Nixon capped it off by clearing the bases with the slam.

Nixon also handled things well on the mound, tossing four innings and allowing just one unearned run while striking out five batters and issuing zero walks. Ryan C led the team with two walks as HBB 12U worked counts all game long, finishing with 10 total walks and six stolen bases as a team.

🏁 Final: HBB 12U 14, Rosemount Irish 12AAA 1 ✅✅✅

⚔️ Game 4: A Hard-Fought Battle Against FAE Mustangs

Not every game goes your way, and Game 4 was a reminder of just how competitive this tournament was. HBB 12U got on the board first when Ryan C launched a solo home run to right field, and later took a brief 3-2 lead in the third inning thanks to an RBI double from Will C.

But FAE Mustangs answered with a six-run third inning of their own, powered by a two-RBI triple from Tripp T, and HBB 12U wasn't able to close the gap. Leo J started on the mound and battled through two innings, and though the offense collected six walks as a team, it wasn't quite enough this time.

🏁 Final: FAE Mustangs 12U 8, HBB 12U 5 ❌

🥊 Game 5: A Tough Outing Against a Hot Mustangs Lineup

The rematch with FAE Mustangs came fast, and this time the Mustangs' bats were relentless from the very first inning — a four-run first frame followed by more damage in the second and third. Brandon P started and worked through traffic, while Brandon himself provided the lone offensive spark, going 1-for-2 to lead the team in hits on the day.

It was a tough one, but exactly the kind of high-level competition that pushes a team to get better — and this group didn't back down. 💪

🏁 Final: FAE Mustangs 12U 15, HBB 12U 0 ❌

🔁 Game 6: Bouncing Back in Style Against Rosemount Irish

After a tough stretch, HBB 12U responded with one of their most complete team performances of the tournament. A six-run second inning — highlighted by an RBI single from Will C, a bases-clearing double from Brandon P, and a daring steal of home 😱 — put the game out of reach early.

Greyson D anchored the start on the mound, working two and two-thirds innings, before Benjamin M came on in relief and was outstanding — one and one-third innings of shutout ball without allowing a hit. Brandon led the offense with three RBIs, while Ryan C, Leo J, Will C, and Nixon S all chipped in hits. The real story, though, was the team's speed: HBB 12U stole an incredible 13 bases in the game 🏃💨 and didn't commit a single error in the field, with Ryan making five defensive plays.

🏁 Final: HBB 12U 10, Rosemount Irish 12AAA 2 ✅

🎯 Game 7: A Gritty Final Effort

The tournament closed with one more test against a strong FAE Mustangs squad. Nixon S got the offense moving early with an RBI single in the first, and later took the mound to start the game, battling through traffic for an inning. Charles S, Everett B, and Nixon each picked up a hit in the game, with Nixon leading the team in RBIs to close out his outstanding week at the plate.

🏁 Final: FAE Mustangs 12U 14, HBB 12U 1 ❌

🐾 The Bigger Picture

A 4-3 record only tells part of the story. Over seven games in Branson, this HBB 12U team showed real growth — in their approach at the plate, their aggressiveness on the bases, their composure on the mound, and their fight in every single game, win or lose. Ryan C's hot bat 🔥, Nixon S's signature grand-slam moment 💣, and the team's relentless speed on the basepaths 💨 were the highlights of the week, but just as important was the way this group competed as a unit from the first pitch to the last.

Trips like Branson are about more than the scoreboard. They're about building the kind of team chemistry, resilience, and love for the game that carries into the fall and beyond — and this group did exactly that.
